“Couldn’t you just stay here forever?”
Just one year ago, the first ‘Roda Reports’ was launched to bring you an ongoing flavour of life in the village, as well as in Corfu and Greece generally. Our six editions so far have built up into a compendium of tourist information, opinion and advice which is probably unrivalled anywhere on the island and the magazine will continue to provide a broad spectrum of information for visitors to Roda.
In recent weeks, there has been some speculation about the number of package holidays available in Roda for 2010 and it is inevitable for loyal visitors to feel concerned that major tour operators are buying less beds in the village than they used to. It is a sad fact that popular resorts, with a high percentage of repeat visitors, are victims of their own success in that tour operators see secondary revenues fall and redirect their customers elsewhere as a result. On the other hand, it is important to understand that package holidays are currently at a 30-year low in terms of

This is why major tour operators are offering such gimmicks as ‘tailor-made holidays’ and, having spent many years taking the choice out of package holidays, they are now flying backwards as fast as they can.
On the Internet, the range of travel choices is infinite and customers are now sufficiently expert and well-informed to question why they have been force-fed a ‘one-size-fits-all’ package for so many years. Holiday-makers have been empowered to the point where they now
current trends as possibly only 30% of rooms available in the village are actually bookable through tour operators. This leaves 70% available for independent travellers to indulge their particular needs & wants and construct a ‘made-to-measure’ holiday rather than take one that is ‘off the peg.’
Through Roda Reports & Roda Online, we have provided visitors with a ‘one-stop’ source of travel information that enables & simplifies the process of creating your own package. For many reasons, Corfu is the land of independent travel and nowhere is better suited than Roda. Why not take a flyer this year and take control of your own vacation?
make their own choices and this gives them the clout and flexibility to take control and custom design their own holidays.
It may well be that Roda’s extensive range of accommodation is, unknowingly, keeping pace with
